Sabbath Keeping

I am currently in Vancouver BC studying at Regent College. For me this is a real Sabbath.

Here is a fun (although terrifiying) question: What would an ideal Sabbath day look like for you?

Want to give it a go?

  1. Once upon a time I would get up on Sunday then fix and enjoy a nice breakfast while reviewing my Bible lesson notes. I would dress leisurely, drive to church, and spend an hour in my adult Bible Study class seriously discussing the lesson and sharing insights. Then I would attend the worship service.

After service I often went out with a friend or two for lunch. Then I would go home and read or nap. At 5 p.m. I was back in church for the evening service. After service I went home, enjoyed a light meal, and did my own personal Bible Study.

I deliberately kept Sundays very peaceful, low key and media free. All activities were church related or pertained to my family and/or Christian friends.

Integrating another person in my life has seriously disrupted all of my schedules and patterns, and I haven't taken the time to make new ones.
